March Madness

Recap of life in the Vincent house over the last week or so.

St. Paddy's Day Fun
This year we woke up to fine Irish weather, it was overcast and rainy. When we walked out of the house it was as if I could hear bagpipes in the background. Ok, so maybe not, I had just finished a book that took place in Ireland so I was a little more in the spirit, maybe that was it. I even got to watch the parade at work (one of the perks of working downtown in Topeka, the parade route goes right by my building). All and all it was a GREAT day!

Family Tour
After my last doctor's appointment Paisley and I had dinner with with my Dad and Step-mom. We got a great surprised: Rylee, Avrey & Torey were there also. It was nice getting to catch up with Dad & Christy and playing with the girls.

Blessed
We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in our life. Because of every one's generosity (and catching good deals) we are ready for Ryder to arrive. I will post pictures of the room when we are finished putting everything away.

Little Man UpdateI had my 31 week check up on Friday. According to my doctor both Ryder and I are measuring right on schedule. We heard his wonderful heart beat and it was loud and strong. He is already head down and we have a date! So mark you calendars for May 21st because that is when I will be induced. And because people have been asking, here is a new belly picture.

Fabulous Deal

It is no secret that I LOVE to shop and finding a good deal is my mission! So I would like to take a minute to brag about my good luck. Target is having a sale on their Up & Up brand of baby care items. The regular size baby wash is on sale for $1.00, baby shampoo for $1.07 and baby lotion for $1.09. This alone is a pretty good deal but the good people at Target sweetened the deal even more. On each bottle there was a coupon for either $0.75 or $1.00 off to be used at the register right then. Are you kidding me? Hello...I will take them all please! Ok, so I wasn't that stingy, we only grabbed two of each and paid.....drum roll please........a whopping $0.35. Yes, you read that correctly I got all of this....

for $0.35.
Yes I am a dork, I took a picture of my receipt because I wanted proof of my sweet success! And did you see that I saved $6.84. YEAH!! Happy Dance! Happy Dance!

Zen Again

Ok, so after my last post I'm sure you could tell that I was headed down a slippery slope. I was feeling very over worked, under appreciated and overwhelmed with everything. Add those feelings to my crazy pregnancy hormones and I was one hot mess!

After talking to the baby doctor at my last appointment (which went very well, both Ryder and I are measuring just where we should be, YEAH!!!) my doctor informed me that if I couldn't get my stress level under control he would have to limit my work hours. To be honest at first this was a welcome comment but then I started thinking about it and it started to stress me out more. If I don't have time in an 8 hour work day to get everything done that I need, how would I ever get it done if that time was cut? So Toby and I came up with a plan for work: I would be honest with myself and everyone else. I am just one person and can't do it all. So I am working on saying 'No'. Sure, I still have my "To Do" list but now it is more of a GUIDE as opposed to the RULE on what I have to finish. And if things are still on my list at closing time they will still be there there tomorrow and that is ok because work needs to stay at work. The plan for home: we decided to take a break from our crazy schedule and lay low for the week. The house wasn't a priority (we kept it picked up but didn't do any major cleaning), when we got home from work it was straight into comfy PJ's and we didn't leave the house after our PJ's were on, we had ice cream every night before bed and we just hung out together as a family. We played games, did a few craft projects (pictures to come), watched movies and read. It was so relaxing!

We all were able to start this week out on the right foot with a smile on our face (except for the fact that 6am felt like 5am and we are not morning people but a little bit of cartoons and a strawberry Pop-Tart made it a bearable).

The Truth Hurts

And that's all I have to say about that!

Random Paisley

Balloons
Paisley: If you take me to the restaurant with balloons (Red Robin), I will let my balloon go into the sky when we get home so Jesus can play with it.

Dog Tails
Paisley: Mommy, do you know why dogs have tails?
Me: That's the way God made them.
Paisley: No, I think they have tails to cover their privates.

Spelling P-A-I-S-L-E-Y
Me: Paisley do you know how to spell your name?
Paisley: Well, I think it starts with a P then an A and I think there is an L and a Y somewhere.
Me: Come look what I did to help you out. (I spelled out her name on the fridge with her alphabet letters)
A bit little later that day the letters were all mixed up
Me: Paisley did you move the letters around in your name?
Paisley: Yes. I like them better in THIS order.

Hello March!

Oh, I have missed you! Let me count the reasons why I love you so....

For starters this month has one of my most favorite holidays in it, St. Paddy's day!! Due to this fabulous holiday this month comes loaded with parades, leprechauns, lucky charms and celebrating all things Irish! I have NEVER had a bad St. Patrick's day! I just don't think that it is possible. Let's face it, St. Paddy's day is so cool everyone wants to be Irish for the day!

Irish Quote: "If you're lucky enough to be Irish, then you're lucky enough."
video
Irish Quote: "But the greatest love- the love above all loves, even greater than that of a mother - Is the tender, passionate, undying love, of one beer drunken slob for another."

Another reason I love March so much.....it kicks off SPRING! When everything is starting to come to life after the long winter nap. Everywhere you look you start to see color.

(So, it was a short list of reasons of why I love March but that is ok with me!)
